COVID HEALTH & SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

This Health & Safety Plan is Subject to being updated. To help protect children, staff and community, as well as slow the spread of COVID-19, the Chambersburg Ballet Theatre (CBT) School will follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and PA Department of Health considerations.

(Created 6/9/20, and Updated 6/11,6/12/20, and 8/17/20). This Health & Safety Plan is subject to being updated.)

To help protect children, staff, and communities, as well as slow the spread of COVID-19, the Chambersburg Ballet Theatre (CBT) School will follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and PA Department of Health considerations. Limited Class and Program Sizes: To limit the number of people a student, guardian, or staff member interacts with, as well as the duration of that interaction, the following protocol will exist for childcare, classes, snack and lunchtime during camp: Small classes of no more than 10 students (5 each in the Wood Center's two separated spaces) or 3 students (in Studios Fonteyn or Nureyev) will study together any given day, with social distancing. Students' temperature will be taken prior to entering the Capitol Theatre building. If their temperature is 100.4 degrees or higher they will not be permitted to come to a class or intensive program that day.

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT PROCESS for FALL CLASSES & REHEARSALS:

To Check In: Students, wearing masks, shall approach the building and staff, also masked, will open the door and check the student's temperature. If under 100.4 they shall be admitted, and hand sanitizer applied.

To Check Out: A parent or designated driver shall pull around in front of the Capitol Theatre's Atrium Door.

Students shall be accompanied either by their teacher, a volunteer parent or the CBT School Director to the atrium and released to the parent, unless a prior arrangement has been made with the Director for another designated person to pick the child up.

Safety Precautions that the Chambersburg Ballet Theatre (CBT) School will take:

We will provide physical guides, such as tape on floors or sidewalks and signs on walls, to ensure that staff and children remain at least 6 feet apart, individual "personal sized" dance spaces in the Wood Center and CBT School studios, or when students must be lined up to practice an entrance rehearsing a dance in a performance.

Tape guides are currently on the hallway floors to delineate "one way routes" in hallways. Students will remain at least 6 feet apart and will not share objects. Each student who has one must bring and label their own personal ballet barre (they may keep the barre at the School). The School also has a few extra barres for use.

Students must bring a mask, a snack, if needed, for during a longer class and rehearsal situation, a ballet bag to keep their belongings separated from others', and an individual water bottle which is marked with their name, in the bag or an exterior pocket. They should keep this ballet bag with them at all times.

Dressing rooms will not be used during the School Year. Students are to arrive with dance attire worn underneath outer clothing, and coat, etc. during colder weather. Only children from the local geographic area will be allowed to attend classes and intensive programs.

The Chambersburg Ballet Theatre School encourages the following behaviors to reduce the spread of COVID-19:

1. Staying Home when Appropriate: We actively encourage employees and children who are sick or have recently had a close contact with a person with COVID-19 to stay home. Employees and children should stay home if they have tested positive for or are showing COVID-19 symptoms, stay home and monitor their health. The CDC's criteria will determine when participants and employees may return

2. The Chambersburg Ballet Theatre (CBT) School's staff and volunteers will teach and reinforce handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and will monitor to ensure adherence among students and staff.

3. If soap and water are not readily available, hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol will be placed in each Wood Center and CBT School studio space.

4. Staff will monitor children to ensure safety when using hand sanitizer. NOTE: We encourage staff and children to cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue. Used tissues should be thrown in the trash and hands washed immediately with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, but if soap and water are not readily available, hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol will be provided.

5. Cloth Face Coverings: Cloth face coverings are meant to protect other people in case the wearer is unknowingly infected but does not have symptoms. Cloth face coverings are not surgical masks, respirators, or other medical personal protective equipment. The CBT School will teach and reinforce the use of cloth face coverings. Face coverings will be required for all staff and recommended for all students.

Students will be required to wear face masks in the following circumstances:

1. When walking from and to their cars into the Wood Center.

2. To and from bathrooms and any outdoor space on the Capitol Theatre's property that the CBT Program may utilize.

3. In ballet classes and rehearsals when feasible. Face coverings should be worn by all children.

Face coverings should not be placed on:

Anyone who has trouble breathing or is unconscious. Anyone who is incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the cover without help.

Adequate Supplies of Cleaning & Safety Equipment

The Chambersburg Ballet Theatre (CBT) School will support healthy hygiene by providing supplies including soap, hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol, paper towels, tissues, disinfectant wipes, face coverings (as is feasible), and trash cans.

Signs and Messages:

The Chambersburg Ballet Theatre (CBT) School has posted signs in highly visible locations (e.g., entrances, hallways, restrooms) that promote everyday protective measures and describe how to stop the spread of germs such as by properly washing hands and properly wearing a cloth face covering. We will include messages about behaviors that prevent spread of COVID-19 when communicating with staff and families through the CBT School's new Jackrabbit Parent Portal, and individual emails as needed.

Maintaining Healthy Environments:

The Chambersburg Ballet Theatre (CBT) School will implement several strategies to maintain healthy environments:

Cleaning and Disinfection: We will clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces (e.g. door handles, sink handles, drinking fountains) within the facility between uses as much as possible. There will be no use of shared objects. We will increase routine cleaning and disinfection. If vehicles (e.g. a car for a staff member to provide transportation for a student or other staff member) need to be used, drivers will practice all safety actions and protocols as indicated for other staff (e.g., hand hygiene, cloth face coverings).

We will clean and disinfect cars or other transport vehicles per the CDC guidance for cars and other vehicles.

We will ensure safe and correct use and storage of cleaners and disinfectants, including storing products securely away from children.

We will use products that meet EPA disinfection criteria. Cleaning products will not be used near children, and staff will ensure that there is adequate ventilation when using these products to prevent children or themselves from inhaling toxic fumes. Staff will use gloves when removing garbage bags or handling and disposing of trash.

Staff will wash hands after removing gloves.

We discourage sharing of items that are difficult to clean, sanitize, or disinfect. Students may not share electronic devices, books, or other learning aids.

We will ensure that all water systems and features (e.g., sink faucets, drinking fountains, showers, decorative fountains) are safe to use.

Physical Barriers and Guides: We will provide physical guides, such as tape on floors or sidewalks and signs on walls, to ensure that staff and children remain at least 6 feet apart in lines and at other times (e.g., guides for creating "one way routes" in hallways).

Food Service: Students bring their own snacks for rehearsal days and eat in separate areas or with their smaller group. We will ensure the safety of children with food allergies.

Maintaining Healthy Operations: The Chambersburg Ballet Theatre (CBT) School will implement several strategies to support healthy operations. Protections for Staff and Students who are at Higher Risk of Severe Illness from COVID-19: 1) We will limit program attendance to staff and a limited number of students (10) in each Wood Center class. These students live in the local geographic area to reduce risk spread from areas with higher levels of COVID-19.

Gatherings, Classes, and Visitors: We will avoid group events, gatherings, or meetings wheresocial distancing of at least 6 feet between people cannot be maintained. We will limit anynonessential visitors. Communication and Designated COVID-19 Point of Contact: CBTSchool Director Lavinia Reid is the designated a staff person to respond to COVID-19concerns: lavcbts@icloud.com, (717) 377-3274. Staff and families should self-report to thedesignated point of contact if they have symptoms of COVID-19, a positive test for COVID-19,or were exposed to someone with COVID-19 within the last 14 days. Back-Up Staffing Plan:We will monitor absenteeism of staff, cross-train staff, and create a roster of trained back-upstaff. Staff Training: We will train staff on all safety protocols. We will conduct trainingvirtually or ensure that social distancing is maintained during training. Recognizing Signs and

Symptoms: We will conduct daily health checks (e.g., temperature screening and/or symptomchecking) of staff and children safely and respectfully, and in accordance with any applicableprivacy laws and regulations. Support Coping and Resilience: We will encourage employees and families to take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to news stories aboutCOVID-19, including social media if they are feeling overwhelmed or distressed. We willpromote students, staff and volunteers eating healthy, exercising, getting sleep, and finding time to unwind. We encourage staff and students to talk with people they trust about their concerns and how they are feeling. Preparing for If Someone Gets Sick: The Chambersburg Ballet Theatre (CBT) School will implement several strategies to prepare for when someone gets sick: We will advise sick staff members or children not return until they have met CDC's criteria to discontinue home isolation. Isolate and Transport A Sick Person: We will make sure that staffand families know that they should not come to the CBT School, and that they should notify thedesignated COVID-19 point of contact if they become sick with COVID-19 symptoms, testpositive for COVID-19, or have been exposed to someone with symptoms or a confirmed orsuspected case. We will immediately separate anyone with COVID-19 symptoms (such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath). Individuals who are sick will go home and/or to a healthcare facility depending on how severe their symptoms are and follow CDC guidance for caring for themselves or others. An isolation room/area (the Ladies' Dressing Room) has beenidentified to separate anyone who has COVID-19 symptoms. This would mean that the front stairway would be used for that individual to use to go down to the Main St. entrance of the Capitol Theatre if possible. If we must call an ambulance or transport to the hospital, we will call first to alert them that the person may have COVID-19. Clean and Disinfect: We will closeoff areas used by a sick person and will not use these areas until after cleaning and disinfecting them (for the outdoor lunch/snack area this would mean not using the area for the rest of the day.) We will ensure safe and correct use and storage of cleaning and disinfection products, including storing them securely away from children. Notify Health Officials and Close

Contacts: In accordance with state and local laws and regulations, we will notify local health officials, staff, and families immediately of any case of COVID-19 while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We will advisethose who have had close contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19 to stay home, self-monitor for symptoms, and follow CDC guidance if symptoms develop.
