Meet Our Instructors

Brian Grant
Artistic Director

Brian Grant was named Artistic Director of the Chambersburg Ballet in August 2023. He has been a professional dancer, ballet master, choreographer and instructor for the past 20 years. Grant's curriculum and teaching style is rooted in the American Ballet Theater's National Training Curriculum and incorporates other styles. Previously, Grant was the Assistant Artistic Director and Artist-in-Residence of Movement on Main Center for Dance in Zanesville, Ohio since 2018 and the Artistic Director of Midwest Repertory Ballet, a professional ballet company he founded in 2021.

Jenna Smith
Faculty/Guest Artist

Jenna Smith began dancing at age 3 and later received formal ballet training at Chambersburg Ballet from ages 11-14. She performed in several ballets with the company during that time including the Nutcracker, Firebird, Cinderella, excerpts from Swan Lake, and other classical and contemporary works.

Jenna graduated from Shippensburg University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and shortly after began her career as a historic preservation planner. After beginning her career and still missing the joy dancing brought her during her childhood, she returned to ballet in 2022 and returned to the stage with Chambersburg Ballet in 2023.

Alcinda Burchill
Faculty/Guest Artist

Alcinda Burchill has been dancing for 18 years at the Chambersburg Ballet (CB). She graduated High School in 2021 and joined the CB’s faculty the following summer and continued to perform with the company. She has performed in many roles ranging from corps work to lead roles such as Cinderella, Lilac Fairy, and Sugarplum Fairy. She has taught ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, and musical theater classes. Alcinda has been choreographing ballet, jazz, and contemporary dances starting from age 13 as a student and has continued to choreograph many more for the studio over the years. She is currently working on her degree in Secondary English Education at Shippensburg University and is set to graduate in May 2026!

Katherine Smith
Faculty/Guest Artist

Katherine Smith has loved ballet ever since she was a little girl, and she often checked out every book on the subject at the library when she was young. She's been on stage since age two but debuted with the Chambersburg Ballet as a guest artist in "The Nutcracker" (Mother Ginger) in 2021 and joined our adult classes soon after. She trained and taught at Shekinah Ballet prior to joining CBT, in addition to her history in musical theater. Katherine is an indie author and editor who is often found knitting in a corner somewhere.
