Pre-Primary Ballet Classes

 

Pre-Primary Ballet 1 (Ages 3-5)

• Saturday 12:30PM - 1:15PM, Studio 2

• Tuition: $65 per month for 9 months ($585) / $498 annual (15% discount if paid in full up front)

A small group class, limited to 10 individual dancers, with ballet-based dance movements for young children ages 3-5. The class consists of Circle Time, gentle stretching, learning the 5 positions of the arms, 1st; 2nd position of the feet. An introduction to spatial concepts, and basic motor skills which can later be applied to ballet technique. Class finishes with a story ballet of an improvisatory nature danced to beautiful classical music.

Primary Ballet Classes

 

Primary Ballet (Age 6-8)

• Thursday 4:45PM - 5:30PM, Studio 2

• Tuition: $70 per month for 9 months ($630) / $536 annual (15% Discount if paid in full up front)

A beginning ballet class, limited to 12 individual dancers, for children ages 6-8, where students learn the 5 positions of the arms and 3 different positions of the feet (1st, 2nd, 3rd), as well as basic ballet exercises, steps, and terminology. They learn to stretch, skip, chase, leap to music, and finish with an improvisatory dance to beautiful classical music. Class ends with the traditional stage bow or reverence, to thank their teacher and one another.

 

Adolescent Ballet Levels 1-4

 

Level 1 Ballet (Ages 9-10)

• Saturdays 11:30am-12:30pm, Studio 2

• Tuition: $85 per month for 9 months ($765) / $651 annual (15% Discount if paid in full up front

An hour-long ballet class for children ages 9-10, emphasizing the fundamentals of ballet; including the introduction of barre exercises to develop strength, coordination, and graceful movement. Gentle stretching and basic steps are learned at the barre, with center work and practice from the corner. 

 

Level 2B Ballet (Ages 11-12)*

• Tues. 6:00-7:15PM in Studio 1 & Thurs. 6:15-7:30PM in Studio 2

• Tuition: $130 per month for 9 months ($1,170)/ $995 annual (15% Discount if paid in full up front)

Ballet class for children ages 11-12, emphasizing the fundamentals of ballet; including the introduction of barre exercises with one hand on the barre to develop strength, coordination, and graceful movement. Gentle stretching and basic steps are learned at the barre, with center work and traveling across the floor. This is considered the Pre-Pointe level of our current school.

 

*Pre-Pointe Class Friday 5:15PM - 6:00PM may be added with a 25% discounted rate of $48/month over a 9 month period or $368 annual (if paid in full up front).

 

Boy's Ballet Level 3 (Ages 11-13)*

• Monday 6PM - 7:30PM in Studio 1 & Wednesday 6PM - 7:30PM in Studio 2

• $130 per month for 9 months ($1,170)/ $995 annual (15% Discount if paid in full up front)

• Instructors: Jenna Smith Monday, Brian Grant on Wednesday

 

A class with requisite ballet experience with emphasis on exercises to develop strength, coordination, and graceful movement. Enhanced stretching techniques, pirouettes, adagio, jumps, and turns are also offered. This class runs in line with Level 3 Ballet, but offers a separate class on Wednesdays to focus on skills required of young male dancers

Level 3A Ballet (Ages 11-13)*

• Monday & Wednesday 6PM - 7:30PM, Pointe Class Friday 6-8PM, Studio 1

• Tuition: $260 per month for 9 months ($2,340)/ $1,989 annual (15% Discount if paid in full up front)

A class with requisite ballet experience with emphasis on exercises to develop strength, coordination, and graceful movement. Enhanced stretching techniques, pirouettes, adagio, jumps, and turns are also offered.

 

*Contemporary Class is an optional add-on for Thursday 6:15-7:15PM and receives a discount rate (25% discount) of $48/month over a 9 month period  or $368 annual (15% if paid in full up front)

 

Level 4A/B Ballet (Ages 13+)*

• Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday, 4:30PM - 6PM, Pointe Class Thursday 4:30PM - 6:15PM, Studio 1

• Tuition: $340 per month for 9 months ($3,060)/ $2601 annual (15% Discount if paid in full up front)

• Instructor (s): Brian Grant on Monday and Tuesday & Alcinda Burchill Wednesday

 

With requisite ballet experience this class focuses on further development of strength, endurance, facility and extension and extra pointe work.

 

*Contemporary Class is a REQUIRED add-on for Ballet Level 4 dancers. NOTE: If you are signed up for all Ballet Level 4 classes, Contemporary Class is included in the tuition

 

Pre-Pointe and Pointe Classes

 

Pre-Pointe Conditioning (Ages 9+)*

An Introduction to pointe training, performed in soft shoes or bare feet with other parts of cross-training, for qualified students age 9 and up, who are of the Level 2B ballet technique level or above. Class includes exercises at the barre to strengthen lower legs and feet and learn basic pointe techniques. To test out of the class, you must pass a Pointe Shoe Assessment, which will be administered by the Artistic Director.

**NOTE: Pointe Shoe Assessment only to be administered to those dancers enrolled in Chambersburg Ballet's Ballet Level 3A or 2B classes, and will be administered at the discretion of the Artistic Director

 

Pre-Pointe Level 3A (Ages 11-13)*^

• Friday, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Studio 1

• Tuition: $70 per month for 9 months ($630)/ $536 annual (15% discount if paid in full up front)

Beginning Pointe Class for qualified students age 10 and up, who are of the Level 3 ballet technique or above. Class includes exercises at the barre to strengthen lower legs and feet and learn basic pointe techniques.

*NOTE: Dancers enrolled in Level 3A Ballet are automatically enrolled in this class with the fee included.

 

^NOTE: Some dancers in the Level 2B class may be approved to join this class on Fridays, while maintaining their 2B ranking. This is intended to bridge the gap between those that had taken the Pre-Pointe class in the previous season. They will be extended a 25% discount ($53/month or $406 if paid in full up front) to this class, should they choose to join.

 

Level 4 A/B Pointe (Ages 13+)*

• Thursday 4:30 - 6:15 PM, Studio 1

• $88 per month over 9 months ($792) or $673/annual (15% discount if paid in full up front)

A thorough intermediate level Pointe Class for those students level 4 and above who have completed two or more years on pointe, are comfortable with repeated releve's on one foot in the center, can pirouette en pointe, and execute consecutive turns from the corner.

Teen/Adult Beginning Ballet (Age 13+)

An excellent class to learn basic ballet fundamentals and steps, starting with the five positions of the feet and of the arms. Barre and Center Exercises will be included.

 

Open Intermediate Ballet (Ages 13+)

• Thursday 10:00AM - 11:15AM, Studio 1

• Tuition: $75/month over a 9 month period ($675) or $608/annual (10% discount if paid in full up front).

  • If signed up for Teen/Adult Beginning Ballet, 50% Discount is applied: $37/month over a 9 month period or $305 if paid in full

A morning intermediate ballet class to learn intermediate ballet steps and concepts. Barre and Center Exercises will be included in this 1hr 15min class. Open to dancers 13 and up. Open to alumni of Chambersburg Ballet or former professional dancers. Must have taken Beginning Ballet prior.

 

Contemporary Dance Class* 

• Thursday 6:15PM - 7:15PM, Studio 1

This class encourages the freedom of expression, improvisation, innovation and creative exploration of movement.

*Contemporary is included in Pricing of Level 4A/B and is REQUIRED. Level 3A and others may be invited by approval of Artistic Director and would receive a further 25% discount on pricing ($49/mo or $375 if paid in full)
 

Company Class (Ages 10+) 

• Saturday, 10:00AM - 12:15PM, Studio 1

• No additional tuition (invitation only) [Subject to Performance Fees]

• Instructors: Brian Grant Company Class & Alcinda Burchill Company Pointe/Variations

 

Includes company pointe/variations. (Pre-req is 1 year Beginning Pointe). Priority Casting opportunities for our company dancers in our Mainstage Productions, such as Nutcracker, Winter Showcase & our End of Year Production. Learn more about joining the Chambersburg Ballet Dance Company. (75% Attendance for ALL Classes required for performances)

Placement Class 

New students in the age range to begin in Level 1 and up will be required to take a placement class to determine appropriate placement. This will be based on the age of the dancer as of January 1, 2026. Contact us for more details or with any questions.
